The project ‘Escape the Classroom’ has been initiated at the end of 2015 by Joris Koot and Anne de Groot, both Biology teachers. In 2016 they have recieved two subsidies from the ‘Leraren Ontwikkel Fonds’ (Teachers Development Fund) to develop and extend the project. Anne and Joris design and build puzzles for their students but also give workshops for teachers and teachertrainers. Their goal is to give every pupil or student in the Netherlands the opportunity to play an escape classroom in their school.
The first few puzzles have been designed for high school Biology in but now there are also puzzles available for other topics and primary education.
